DAY 1 – Pescara
Thursday 14th May 2026

Today begins with airport pick-ups at 10:00am from Rome Fiumicino Airport. From here, we’ll drive east across Italy to the Adriatic coastline, where we’ll settle in for our first two nights.

Our hotel is located right on the coast. On arrival, we’ll set up the bikes, grab some lunch, and head out for a relaxed coastal spin to open up the legs. After the ride, there’s time to freshen up, catch up on the day’s Giro action, and head out for the first of many incredible meals together.

Accommodation: Sea Lion Hotel, Pescara

DAY 2 – Pescara
Friday 15th May 2026

We’ll enjoy breakfast with views over the Adriatic before heading inland to catch up with the Giro d’Italia. Today is a monster stage for the pros as they tackle the legendary Blockhaus climb.

We’ll ride from the coast towards Blockhaus, climbing part of the ascent ourselves before settling in to watch the professionals battle it out on this iconic hilltop finish.

After the race action, we’ll return to Pescara for another evening. In the height of summer this town is packed with northern European tourists, but at this time of year it belongs to the Giro.

Surely, more seafood is on the menu…

Accommodation: Sea Lion Hotel, Pescara

DAY 3 – Portonovo, Ancona
Saturday 16th May 2026

Today we begin our journey north, following the Giro as it flies along the coastline. Rolling straight out from the hotel, it’s mostly flat roads as we hug the Adriatic Sea all the way north.

We’ll stop for lunch and watch the riders pass by before heading to one of Gruppetto’s all-time favourite accommodations—a place we haven’t visited in a while.

We’ll settle in for our one-night stay and no doubt enjoy another sensational dinner. This spot is absolutely breathtaking. Make sure you take some time to explore, enjoy a spritz, and soak it all in.

Accommodation: Hotel Internazionale, Portonovo

DAY 4 – Pistoia, Tuscany
Sunday 17th May 2026

We bid farewell to the eastern coastline and head across to Toscana. Today we’ll ride part of the Giro stage, getting on course to watch the riders tackle a tough, lumpy day of racing.

After grabbing a bite to eat and seeing the Giro come through, we’ll head to a brand-new destination for Gruppetto. Our accommodation is nestled in the Tuscan hills near the beautiful town of Pistoia.

Once we’ve freshened up, it could be time for some recovery—perhaps a spa session—before settling in for another memorable dinner in yet another stunning region.

Accommodation: Hotel Michelangelo & Day Spa, Pistoia

DAY 5 – Pistoia, Tuscany
Monday 18th May 2026

It’s a Giro rest day—but not for us.

While not the hardest ride of the week, today may well be the most beautiful. We’ll roll through the Tuscan hills, where flat roads are few and far between, surrounded by classic Italian scenery.

The afternoon is all about soaking it up: exploring the local area, relaxing, and enjoying the views with a Negroni, a Spritz, or both.

Accommodation: Hotel Michelangelo & Day Spa, Pistoia

DAY 6 – Viareggio
Tuesday 19th May 2026

It’s Time Trial day.

We’ll ride to and around the TT circuit in another fantastic location before settling in for the afternoon on course. This is one of the best spectator days of the Giro, with hours of nonstop action as the pros light up the circuit on their TT machines.

After a great afternoon of racing, we’ll head to our next base: Viareggio, on the Ligurian coast. With time to stroll the streets, enjoy a spritz, and prepare for another outstanding meal, this is a perfect way to end the day.

Accommodation: Hotel Viareggio, Viareggio

DAY 7 – Santa Margherita Ligure
Wednesday 20th May 2026

This morning we continue north along the coastline to watch the Giro tackle a lumpy stage as it rolls past the iconic Cinque Terre. The riding today is absolutely stunning.

We’ll settle in for lunch and watch the Giro pass by for the final time before heading to our last accommodation—and what a place to finish. This location is truly spectacular.

There will be time to wander the beautiful streets before our final dinner together. No doubt plenty of stories will be shared over a glass (or two) of vino.

Accommodation: Hotel Laurin, Santa Margherita Ligure

DAY 8 – Farewells
Thursday 21st May 2026

After breakfast, we’ll make our way to Milan Malpensa Airport for an 11:00am drop-off.

Whether you’re heading home or continuing your Italian adventure, it’s time to say goodbye—for now—with incredible memories and an unforgettable week of riding, racing, and Italian culture.
