Summary Tour Itinerary

DAY 1 - Santa Margherita
Wednesday 8th May 2024

Today starts with airport pickups at 10am from Milan Malpensa Airport. From there we have a drive south toward Santa Margherita where we are settling in for the night.

Our hotel is on the coast itself, so on arrival we’ll set up the bikes, catch the giro speed through, then head out on a short ride including a roll through Portifino. After a roll we can freshen up & head out for the first of many amazing meals, this one over-looking the beautiful coastline.

DAY 2 - The Castle - Perugia
Thursday 9th May 2024

This will be a great day! We’ll enjoy the breakfast and views from the hotel, before riding 60km down the coastline towards Cinque Terra. We’ll grab a bite to eat, then it will be time to see the Giro on course as the come through on this hard gravel stage.

We’ll then head to our incredible accommodation, one of  Gruppetto's favourite spots - Castello di Monterone in Perugia and no doubt, another sensational dinner.

DAY 3 - The Castle - Perugia
Friday 10th May 2024

It’s TT day…. 

After a short roll around this very lumpy area, we will settle in for the afternoon on course to watch the pro’s light up the circuit on their TT rigs.

This will be a great afternoon of action before heading back to the genuine, restored castle for a second night. This place is absolutely breathtaking. Make sure you take a bit of time to check out this amazing castle, enjoy a spritzer and get ready for some sensational food at their award winning restaurant.

DAY 4 - L’Aquila
Saturday 11th May 2024

Today we head further south and the roads start to head skyward, proving once again that the south is not flat. A ride with stunning views but still quite a challenge with a hilltop finish on the menu.. We will also enjoy a nice lunch break somewhere along the route, but put today in your diary - this will be your toughest day on the bike.

Once freshened up, there’ll be time to explore before another nice dinner in a different region once again.

DAY 5 - Sorrento Coast
Sunday 12th May 2024

Today we head further south towards Napoli. We will unload the bikes & ride the coastline towards the stage finish of the Giro, stopping for lunch along the route.

Then it’s a breathtaking drive to our accom toward the Amalfi coast. There’ll be plenty of time to relax before dinner on one of the most famous coastlines in the world.

DAY 6 - Sorrento Coast
Monday 13th May 2024

It’s a rest day in the Giro but not for us.  Although not one of the hardest days of the week, it could arguably be the most beautiful. We will ride the famous Amalfi coast including lunch and a roll through Sorrento.

You’ll get the chance to again spend the afternoon checking out the area and surrounds. Expect a big afternoon with a Negroni, a Spritzer or both before rambling to another favourite seafood restaurant.

DAY 7 - Capo Portiere
Tuesday 14th May 2024

After waking up in a destination as romantic and beautiful as the Sorrento Coast, it’ll quickly be time to start heading north, catching our last glimpse at the Giro and tapping out this lumpy ride that pro’s will tackle. 

Then it’s off to our accommodation, maybe in time for a spa and a spritzer before our last dinner together? I’m sure there will be many stories shed over a vino or two, or three.

DAY 8 - Farewells
Wednesday 15th May 2024

Our final morning on tour, and following breakfast, we’ll head to Rome airport for 10am drop off. If you’re staying on in Italy you can pick up your car or catch transport from there, or check in and board your flight home. 

Either way it’s good memories, and goodbye, for now.
