Today we bid farewell to sea level as we head into the Dolomites. Campitello di Fassa, a small alpine village in the heart of the Dolomites is a favourite with Gruppetto. Sitting near the Pordoi, Sella and Fedaia passes, it’s part of the Dolomiti Superski area - so we all know whats coming!

Before reaching the Dolomites though, we will ride the entire eastern side of Lake Garda, taking in the breathtaking views before our first little tester, a tricky little climb and then a roll downhill to Rovereto for lunch. Then it’s just a short drive to the Dolomites to settle in for a few nights.

Wednesday 12th June 2024

Today is our last day in the Dolomites before heading to the Alps - and it’s a tough one. We first climb the famous Passo Pordoi, this time from the other side, followed by the infamous Passo Fedia. If the legs aren’t too fresh today, take option B and enjoy yourself at the top of Pordoi for a while, maybe take the cable car up to the peak.

Tonight we are staying in Revo, and another great dinner washed down by a few vino’s.

Accommodation: Viridis Hotel

DAY 5 - Bormio
Thursday 13th June 2024

Today we ride the famous Stelvio pass, a whopping 28km uphill which, at this time of year should still have plenty of snow around, so rug up. We will hang around for lunch at the top taking in the views, before descending the western side back to sea level into Bormio, home for the next two nights.

Make sure you check out the cobbles streets of this great little town.

Accommodation: Miramonti Park Hotel

DAY 6 - Bormio
Friday 14th June 2024

Yesterday was the Stelvio, today it’s her sister right next door, not easy and no shorter. Settle in for a few hours of climbing, challenging but rewarding, with breathtaking scenery to make the breaks so much more enjoyable. Once at the top we can grab a bite to eat before descending back into town for an afternoon exploring, kicking back at a well positioned bar for the afternoon looking into the Alps, followed by one of our favourite pizza restaurants.

Accommodation: Miramonti Park Hotel

DAY 7 - Malgrate
Saturday 15th June 2024

After breakfast in Bormio we start heading south towards Lake Como.

Today is a sensational day on the bike, split into two rides almost. The first part heading down the western side of Lake Como, stopping for lunch before a ferry crossing to the famous and romantic town of Bellagio. From there it’s uphill for your final 10km, climbing the Ghissallo climb used most years in the Giro Lomadia. There’s an amazing cycling museum at the top of the Ghissallo that’s well worth a look.

Tonight we will taste some more food from another great region and enjoy a few vino’s to celebrate a great trip and sharing stories.

Accommodation: Hotel Promessi Sposi

DAY 8 - Farewells
Sunday 16th June 2024

Unfortunately its time to pack up and head to Milan Malpensa airport for a 10am drop off. Those continuing on in Italy can pick up their car or transfer from here, and those heading home can board their flights back to friends and family ready to share the flood of new memories.

Until next time, it’s goodbye for now.
