Summary Tour Itinerary
DAY 1 - Cossato (mamma’s)
Saturday 20th May 2023
Guests will be picked up from Milan Airport in the morning and we’ll head straight to our Italian home in Cossato, a beautiful village nestled at the bottom of the Alps in Piemonte.
Once you’ve got your bike sorted and had a quick bite to eat, we’ll saddle up for the little heart starter of Oropa. Approx 50km loop
Then it’s back to Mama’s for dinner - I hope your hungry!!
DAY 2 - Sirmione
Sunday 21st May 2023
Today we head to the beautiful Sirmione. a medieval town on the southern bank of Lake Garda. We’ll ride part of Stage 15 before heading to see the finish in Bergamo
Dinner will be enjoyed in this beautiful old town with sensational lake views.
DAY 3 - Sirmione
Monday 22nd May 2023
Today is a rest day in the Giro but not for us. We’re going jump in the vans & tackle Passo Bondone. A 110km ride with an incredible lake side return.
On return, we will rest up and kick back at our lakeside accomodation or a well positioned bar
DAY 4 - Canazei
Tuesday 23rd May 2023
From our accommodation in Sirmione, we’ll ride onto the Stage 16 Course. A nice 80-90km roll before meeting up with the vans & heading into the Dolomites
Another favourite spot of Gruppetto’s is this little Alpine resort in northern Italy. Sitting near the Pordoi, Sella and Fedaia passes, it’s part of the Dolomiti Superski area - so we all know whats coming
DAY 5 - Canazei
Wednesday 24th May 2023
Today is Sella Ronda day!
After a hearty breakfast, we’ll saddle up to tackle this incredible ride. A classic cycling circuit over four famous mountain passes through scenery that will blow your mind.
Get ready for Passo Sella, Passo Gardena, Passo Campalongo & Passo Pordoi
DAY 6 - Cortina d’Ampezzo
Thursday 25th May 2023
Another inctedible day in the Dolomites. From the hotel, we’re going to roll straight toward Passo Fedaia then onto Passo Giau.
We’ll park up & watch the pro’s go by before riding down to our incredible accommodation in the heart of Cortina
DAY 7 - Cortina d’Ampezzo
Friday 26th May 2023
Settle in for a big breakfast, because we climb again!
This time heading for Stage 19, a quintessential majestic stage across the Dolomites, possibly a deciding stage.
We’ll tackle the Passo di Campolongo, immediately followed by the Passo Valparola, park up & watch the battle play out.
DAY 8 - Tarvisio
Saturday 27th May 2023
The finishing climb of Stage 19 is our target today. The famous Tre Cime. Approx 40km ride & then onto watch the ultimate decider - The Individual Time Trial. A challenging course for the pro’s with super steep sections should prove very entertaining.
From there we’ll head toward our accomodation & a big dinner in Tarvisio, a charming Italian village in Friuli-Venezia Giulia, not far from the Austro-Slovenian border.
DAY 9 - Conegliano
Sunday 28th May 2023
Today we’re going to tackle Piancavallo - another beautiful Dolomites climb. Then it’s on to one of the Gruppetto team’s favourite spots, Conegliano in the heart of the Veneto region, renowned for its Prosecco.
Today is the last stage of the Giro. The Pro’s will have made their way back to Rome for the Grand Finale. We’ll make sure we’re parked up somewhere with a drink to watch it all unfold on the big screen.
Tonight we will have our final dinner together in the famous Conegliano Castle, then maybe on to one the many bars littered through the beautiful cobbled streets around the hotel.
DAY 10 - Farewells
Monday 29th May 2023
Unfortunately its time to pack up and head to Venice Airport Marco Polo for a 10am drop off. Those continuing on in Italy can pick up their car or transfer from here, and those heading home can board their flights back to friends and family ready to share the flood of new memories.
